Abstract
Kinetics of photocatalytic reduction of caproaldehyde in the presence of the RhCl(PMe3)(2)CO complex (I) is studied. The quantum yield F-365 exceeds 1.7% at P-H2 = 40 atm, 20 degrees C, [I] = 8 x 10(-4) mol/l, and lambda = 365 nm. The feasibility of the photocatalytic synthesis o f hexanol from pentane, CO, and H2 in the presence of rhodium complexe s is demonstrated.
