Abstract
The influence of reaction conditions on enantioselectivity in the Ru-I I-(binap)-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of allylic alcohols is di scussed. This work highlights the importance of considering kinetic in fluences in addition to the stereochemical aspects of the chiral catal ytic environment in interpreting catalytic behavior in asymmetric hydr ogenation reactions.
