Abstract
Bazzanines A-J, 10 cyclic bisbibenzyl derivatives with two biphenyl li nkages and substituted with 1-6 chlorine atoms, as well as Bazzanin K, a new dichlorinated macrocycle consisting of a phenanthrene and a bib enzyl moiety also connected with two biphenyl linkages, have been isol ated from the liverwort Bazzania trilobata. The structures have been e lucidated based on extensive NMR spectral evidence and by mass spectro metry. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
