Abstract
The asymmetric double probe method is extended to measure not only the ion temperature but also plasma flow in the tokamak edge plasma under a strong magnetic field. The plasma flow or the Mach number is determ ined by the ratio of ion saturation currents of the double probe pins, where the axes of the cylindrical pins are oriented perpendicular to the magnetic held and face up-or downstream. An experiment was perform ed in the JFT-2M tokamak.
