Sj. Paul et P. Scharer, THE DUAL BONDING TECHNIQUE - A MODIFIED METHOD TO IMPROVE ADHESIVE LUTING PROCEDURES, The International journal of periodontics & restorative dentistry, 17(6), 1997, pp. 537-545
Indirect restorative procedures usually require temporary restorations
for protection of the pulp and for restoring the patients esthetic an
d functional needs. The use of temporary cements, either with or witho
ut eugenol, how ever considerably decreases the adhesion of the bond o
n dentin if - according to the conventional technique - such dentin bo
nding systems are applied once at the moment of final cementation. Wit
h a dual application of the dentin bonding agents a considerable incre
ase in bond strength values was discovered. This article presents a mo
dified luting procedure called the ''dual bonding technique.''
