Abstract
Phase relations were determined in the Cu-Te-Sb phase system at 300 de grees, 350 degrees, 400 degrees, 500 degrees, 600 degrees, 700 degrees , 800 degrees, 900 degrees and 1000 degrees C. At temperatures between 400 degrees and 900 degrees C a cubic primitive ternary phase A exist s. It has the empirical formula Cu10.32-0.97xTexSb4-x (Z = 2, a = 7.68 2 Angstrom). A small liquid field on the Cu-Te join close to the Te-co rner of the phase diagram with up to 5 at % Sb exists at 350 degrees C . At 400 degrees C it has significantly increased in size, and at 500 degrees C it dominates the Te-rich part of the phase diagram. At 500 d egrees C another small liquid field occurs in the central portion af t he phase diagram. At 600 degrees C the two fields have merged into one field, which dominates the phase diagram opposite to the Cu-corner. T he maximum content of Cu in Sb-Te phases, Sb in Cu-Te phases and Te in Cu-Sb phases has been studied in detail.
