Abstract
Following the Chernobyl accident of April 1986, there has been a conti nual increase in the numbers of reported cases of childhood thyroid ca rcinoma. An EC-supported consortium to study the pathology and molecul ar biology of the thyroid cancers is being coordinated from the Univer sity of Cambridge. This paper reports the findings of this study so fa r, together with its recommendations for further studies.
