Abstract
Heat transfer of liquid evaporation was studied in a recirculating thr ee-phase fluidized bed in which an inert gas serving as ''carrying gas '' was introduced. The gas velocities, particle sizes, particle densit ies and particle concentrations in the liquid were examined. Heat flux es were measured as well. Significant enhancement in heat transfer was resulted when an inert gas and solid particles were introduced into t he flow boiling liquid. Scaling mitigation was to be expected in the p rocess.
