B. Vincent et al., CHARACTERIZATION AND INTERPRETATION OF GE OCHEMICAL CYCLES ON THE CARBONATE-SHELF OF BURGUNDY DURING BAJOCIAN-BATHONIAN, Comptes rendus de l'Academie des sciences. Serie II. Sciences de la terre et des planetes, 325(10), 1997, pp. 783-789
A sedimentological and facies sequence study, coupled with geochemical
analyses (Sr, Mg, Fe, Mn and delta(18)O) was made on a core (Ravieres
, Yonne; south-east Paris Basin, France) in the Bajocian-Bathonian car
bonate-shelf sedimentary succession. By studying the strontium variati
ons, geochemical cycles can be correlated to transgressive-regressive
sedimentary cycles. However, the interpretation of the geochemical cyc
les must refer to a different standard than the studies generally real
ised in basin environments.
