A. Genna et al., PROPOSITION OF A PLIOQUATERNARY TECTONIC INVERSION MODEL IN THE CORBIERES AND MINERVOIS REGIONS (FRANCE) - HYDROLOGICAL AND MORPHOLOGICAL CONSEQUENCES, Comptes rendus de l'Academie des sciences. Serie II. Sciences de la terre et des planetes, 325(10), 1997, pp. 807-813
An inversion tectonic pattern is applied to the morpho-structural Plio
-Quaternary evolution of the Minervois and Corbieres regions (south of
France). An argument concerning the evolution of the drainage network
is developed. This model explains geological events traditionally con
sidered as the result of external geodynamics using a single concept o
f internal geodynamic evolution. The Aude river and the evolution of i
ts tributaries, the development of closed basins in the Minervois regi
on and seismicity of the Corbieres region are the main morpho-tectonic
events.
