Abstract
The syntheses, crystal growths and crystal structures of the (Rb,Cs)(n -2)Mo3nTe3n+2 (rt = 4, 5, 6, 8) compounds are reported. They crystalli ze in the space group R-3 for even n and in P6(3)/m for odd n. The Mo- Mo distances within the different Mo-3n clusters observed in the tellu rides and the analogous sulfides and selenides synthesized previously are compared. Single crystal resistivity measurements on Cs2Mo12Te14 s how a metallic behaviour in the 2-300 K temperature range. (C) 1997 El sevier Science S.A.
