Abstract
The oxide Ba2CuO3+delta was synthesized and a maximum oxygen content o f 3.5 was found corresponding to an orthorhombic structure. The depart ure from stoichiometry was measured at various temperatures and the ex perimental results were interpreted in terms of two domains of oxygen vacancies. The electrical conductivity was measured in the same condit ions and two behaviours were found, in good agreement with the departu re from stoichiometry. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
