Field-induced transitions have been observed earlier in manganese mono
pnictide polycrystals. However, the role played by anisotropy in these
second order transitions remained unclear. In this contribution we pr
esent magnetization data for 4.2 K < T < 350 K and 0 < B < 0.58 T, whi
ch demonstrate the field-and anisotropy-determined states of MnAs0.83P
0.17 and MnAs0.88P0.12 single crystals and a clamped state of MnAs0.97
P0.03. An attempt is made to describe these new combined anisotropy-an
d field-related states. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
