Abstract
The method of invariant relations is used to determine conditions for the existence of a linear invariant relation of the Hess type in a pro blem of the motion of a heavy rigid body in a magnetic field, taking t he Barnett-London effect into account A special case is indicated in w hich the reduced system of differential equations of motion has an add itional first integral.
