Abstract
A method is proposed for solving a differential game of group pursuit with a terminal payoff function, consisting of the systematic utilizat ion of the idea of Fenchel-Moreau duality [1] applied to the general s cheme of the resolving function method [2]. It is shown that if the pa rameters of a quasi-linear control process and terminal payoff functio n satisfy certain sufficient conditions, the group pursuit will come t o a successful end. The guaranteed termination time is determined on t he basis of information about the initial state of the process and the prehistory of the evader's control. The results are illustrated for a model example. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
