Abstract
A theory of functions, defined by canonical equations of two-dimension al processes in inhomogeneous layers with a power law of their conduct ivity variation, is developed, and fundamental solutions and systems o f functions based on them are obtained. The class of functions introdu ced and investigated possesses, in addition to general properties [1-3 ], properties which are characteristic solely for this class, and thes e are investigated. The theory developed enables boundary-value proble ms to be solved in closed form, which is realized in the conjunction p roblems considered for two-dimensional processes of different physical kinds occurring in inhomogeneous layers.
