Abstract
Clozapine appears to be effective and well-tolerated in the short-term treatment of severe and treatment-resistant mood disorders, particula rly in the manic excited and psychotic phases of schizoaffective and b ipolar disorders. The same is probably true of maintenance treatment o f bipolar and schizoaffective disorders, although experience with thes e is very limited.
