Abstract
Raman spectroscopy of synthetic ''cooperite'' with variable Pt/Pd rati os and saturated in Ni under the experimental conditions revealed cons iderable differences in their Raman spectra compared to synthetic PtS and PdS. Changes in the Raman spectra can be attributed to varying amo unts of Pd and Ni substituting for Pt. The Raman spectra reported here may not be applicable to all cooperites but natural examples of subst itutions similar to the synthetic ''cooperite'' have been identified.
