S. Mohmel et W. Gessner, THE INFLUENCE OF ALUMINA REACTIVITY ON THE HYDRATION BEHAVIOR OF MONOCALCIUM ALUMINATE, Solid state ionics, 101, 1997, pp. 937-943
The influence of alumina reactivity (specific surface area and Na2O co
ntent) on the hydration of mono calcium aluminate (CA) is investigated
. It was found that additions of alumina influence the hydration behav
iour of CA and lead also to differences in the microstructure of the h
ardened pastes. Besides the specific surface area and Na2O content, th
e reasons of these influences seem to be connected with the concentrat
ion of weak acid sites which obviously causes changes in the nucleatio
n mechanism of the hydrates.
