J. Jedlinski et al., THE EFFECT OF REACTIVE ELEMENTS ON THE OXIDATION BEHAVIOR OF FE23CR5A1 ALLOYS AT HIGH-TEMPERATURES - I - KINETICS AND THERMAL CYCLING, Solid state ionics, 101, 1997, pp. 1147-1155
The oxidation behaviour of Fe-23Cr-5Al-based alloys unmodified and mod
ified by incorporation, using various procedures, of reactive elements
and by implantation of sulphur was investigated at temperatures up to
1673 K, under both isothermal and thermal cycling conditions. The rea
ctive elements, in general, slightly enhanced the oxidation rate of th
e studied alloy and improved the scale resistance to spalling, these e
ffects being dependent on a few factors. Implanted sulphur did not exe
rt significant influence under studied conditions.
