S. Bordoni et al., SYNTHESIS AND SPECTROSCOPIC PROPERTIES OF HETEROPOLYNUCLEAR CYANO-BRIDGED COMPLEXES, Journal of organometallic chemistry, 546, 1997, pp. 117-123
The heteropolynuclear cyano-bridged complexes [(C5H5)Fe(CO)(CNMLn)(CNM
'L'n)], {MLn = M'L'n = (C5H5)Fe(CO)(2) or W(CO)(5); MLn = (C5H5)Fe(CO)
(2), M'L'n = W(CO)(5)} and mixed isocyanide complexes [(C5H5)Fe(CO)(CN
MLn)(CNR)], {MLn = W(CO)(5), R = CPh3; MLn = (C5H5)Fe(CO)(2), R = CH3}
have been obtained by metallation or alkylation of the two terminal C
N ligands of K[(C5H5)Fe(CO)(CN)(2)]. Comparison of the bonding propert
ies of the CNMLn and CNR ligands, based upon their relevant spectrosco
pic data, are discussed. Furthermore, two new isomeric heterobinuclear
cyano-bridged complexes of the form [(C5H5)(CO)(2)FeCNW(CO)(5)] and [
(C5H5)(CO)(2)FeNCW(CO)(5)] have been synthesized and fully characteriz
ed by spectroscopic techniques. Finally the reactions with nucleophile
s of the last two compounds have been also examined. (C) 1997 Elsevier
