The cothermolysis of sityl-3-phenyl-2-trimethylsilyl-1-silacyclopropen
e (1) with 1,4-bis(trimethylsilyl)- and 1,4-bis(triethylsilyl)butadiyn
e at 250 degrees C for 24 h afforded mesityl-3-silyl-2-silylethynyl-1-
silacyclopropenes (3 and 5) and dimesitylbis(silylethynyl)silanes (4 a
nd 6), respectively. The thermolysis of silacyclopropene 3 under the s
