ORGANIZATION OF VESTIMENTIFERA

Microscopic anatomy and development of Vestimentifera are reviewed. Th e analysis of microscopic anatomy and ultrastructure of all the system s of organs is illustrated by diagrams and linedrawings. The published data on the embryonic and larval development of Vestimentifera are su pplemented by original observations on microscopic anatomy of Ridgeia sp. larval stages. At the early stage of trophosome development the gu t tube is envelopped by swollen mesoderm cells which are supposed to b e the trophosome precursor.
