ON THE POSITION OF VESTIMENTIFERA AND POG ONOPHORA IN THE SYSTEM OF THE ANIMAL KINGDOM

Pogonophora and Vestimentifera are considered to bz two classes within the phylum Pogonophora Beklemischew 1944. Embryological characters do n't let consider phylum Pogonophora to be close related to Annelida. T he enterocoelic way of the coelom formation and the reducing of the pr imary brain in the development of Pogonophora enable to suppose their kinship to Archicoelomata and Deuterostomia. Pogonophora are close rel ated to Chordata with the understanding that chordates overtuned and t heir dorsal side is homologous to the ventral side of Pogonophora and other Invertebrates.
