Abstract
This review covers the use of polyamino acids as biocatalysts in asymm etric reactions with focus on the enantioselective epoxidation of alph a,beta-unsaturated ketones. The preparation and mechanism of action of the polyamino acids are discussed and related asymmetric reactions ca talysed by poly-aminoacids and other non-enzymic biocatalysts are desc ribed.
