Abstract
A mixture of acetonitrile and water was found to be a highly efficient medium for the palladium-catalyzed bis-coupling of acetylene gas with aryl iodides. Both water-soluble and -insoluble catalysts are effecti ve, All couplings proceed in excellent yields at room temperature.
