M. Drulis, LOW-TEMPERATURE HEAT-CAPACITY AND MAGNETIC MEASUREMENTS OF URANIUM 3D-METAL HYDRIDES, Polish Journal of Chemistry, 71(12), 1997, pp. 1803-1808
Specific heats and magnetic properties as a function of temperature an
d magnetic field for U6MH17 (M = Fe, Co, Mn and Ni) hydrides have been
measured. These hydrides crystallize in the cubic Pm3n space group, l
ike beta-UH3. The compounds are ferromagnets. The essential thermodyna
mic functions of the entropy S and energy E for magnetic heat contribu
tion were evaluated. It was established, that 3d-metals change the mag
nitude of the magnetic anisotropy having, however a negligible influen
ce on the magnetic transition temperature. The spin-reorientation tran
sitions, suggested previously, were not confirmed.
