DIRECT LASER SINTERING OF METAL-POWDER

Direct laser sintering of metal powder must be considered in the field of rapid tooling, e.g. of cavity inserts and mould components. Using this technology, even finer structures than those obtained with known materials can be produced with a new finely powdered material. A pract ical example demonstrates that the sintered cavity inserts are well-su ited for injection moulding of small quantities of parts.
