Abstract
The C10-C17 fragment of the natural product, FK-506, has been stereose lectively synthesized from L-gulose. Methods for elaboration to the C1 -C17 fragment and installation of the C9 carbonyl group are described. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
