Yy. Wei et C. Chung, KINETIC DISTRIBUTION OF CU, SE, AND ZN IN MICE DURING ASCITES TUMOR-BEARING PERIOD, Journal of radioanalytical and nuclear chemistry, 195(1), 1995, pp. 155-160
The kinetic distribution of (CU)-C-64, Se-75, and Zn-69m radioactive t
racers were determined in tissues of mice bearing ascites tumors and h
ealthy ones. The HPGe gamma-ray spectrometric detection system was use
d for radionuclide analysis in tissues which were sampled at various p
eriods after tracer injection during ascitic tumor growth. Significant
ly different distribution of (CU)-C-64, Se-75, and Zn-69m were found i
n colon, small intestine, and liver of tumor-bearing mice. There was a
dcerease of Se-75 in ascites and blood of tumor-bearing mice. The (CU
)-C-64 and Zn-69m concentration varied significantly in kidneys, and a
similar effect was observed in the spleen for (CU)-C-64, too. A disti
nct variation of tracer distribution is also found at different stages
after treatment. The results are discussed within the context of a co
rrelation between elemental concentration and tumor-growth.
