Abstract
High resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) studies of Bi s-(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (BHET) crystals, prepared by a novel method which allows one to obtain large crystallites (of the order of several centimeters) are reported. The details of the crystallography, including polymorphism, as determined by X-ray diffractometry and inf rared spectroscopy and their relation to the micrographs and electron diffraction results are discussed.
