K. Holotiuk et Fd. Ernst, QUANTIFICATION OF SELECTED HEMORHEOLOGICA L PARAMETERS IN PATIENTS WITH SUDDEN DEAFNESS AND VESTIBULAR PARALYSIS, Perfusion, 10(12), 1997, pp. 433
In this study we compared haemorheological parameters in 48 patients w
ith sudden deafness and 37 patients with vestibular paralysis to a con
trol group. A significant increase in red cell aggregation, plasmavisc
osity and blood viscosity as well as fibrinogen was found. The mean va
lues of the former variables were outside the normal range. These resu
lts imply that rheological parameters are important in reducing the fl
uidity of blood contributing to a cochlear microcirculatory defect in
patients, vith sudden deafness and vestibular paralysis.
