Abstract
From the whole plant of Stauntonia hexaphylla, a new phenolic glycosid e, staunoside F, was isolated along with six triterpenoids: 3-hydroxy- 30-norolean-12,20(29)-dien-28-acid, oleanolic acid, hederagenin, lupeo l, betulonic acid and betulinic acid. The phenolic glycoside was chara cterized by 1D- and 2D-NMR techniques. The biogenetic relationship of 30-nortriterpenoids with an exocyclic double bond at C-20(29) is brief ly discussed.
