Ms. Akhter, EFFECT OF ACETAMIDE ON THE CRITICAL MICELLE CONCENTRATION OF AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS OF SOME SURFACTANTS, Colloids and surfaces. A, Physicochemical and engineering aspects, 121(2-3), 1997, pp. 103-109
The variations of molar conductivity of various surfactants such as so
dium caprylate, sodium laurate, sodium palmitate, sodium stearate, sod
ium oleate, sodium aodecyl sulphate, and lithium dodecyl sulphate with
concentration of the surfactants for each of the solutions consisting
of mixtures of varying concentrations of acetamide in water at a cons
tant temperature of 30+/-0.2 degrees C were studied. The critical mice
lle concentration (CMC) for each surfactant is measured. It is found t
hat the CMC values ill mixtures of acetamide and water solutions of va
rious surfactants are lower than the CMC values in water. (C) 1997 Els
