Abstract
In this paper, a method for prediction of command lines of the UNIX sh ell is proposed. Though the method is mainly based on the reuse of com mand lines, it is able to predict from a similar sequence by means of generalized command lines. A mixture of the frequency and locality of sequences in selecting candidates improves candidate accuracy. (C) 199 7 Scripta Technica, Inc.
