The spray decomposition method with lanthanum nitrate, manganese nitra
te, silver nitrate and citric acid was used to synthesize Ag-and Mn-in
corporated perovskites. The resulting samples were characterized by X-
ray diffraction, BET adsorption measurement, X-ray photoelectron spect
roscopy, and temperature-programmed oxygen desorption (O-2-TPD) measur
ement. The obtained composite Ag/MnOx/perovskites catalysts exhibit hi
gher activity by a few orders of magnitude at 338 K than that of LaMnO
3. From the O-2-TPD measurement, the high activity of the Ag/MnOx/pero
vskites may result from the increase of weak oxygen adsorption below 3
73 K.
