Abstract
Although herbal medicines are believed to be safe with few side effect s, there are several reports on drug-induced liver injury caused by th em. However, there are no reports of autoimmune hepatitis triggered by herbal medicines. We report here the case of a patient with autoimmun e hepatitis that became clinically apparent after administration of Da i-saiko-to (Da-Chai-Hu-Tang), an herbal medicine that is used as a sta ndard medicine in Japan.
