Abstract
The development of an aged society paired with a growing number of eld erly households, is expected to increase residential energy demand, Th is study is designed to analyze various factors which determine the en ergy demand of elderly households and to predict the future of residen tial energy consumption in an aging society, In addition, comparing th e factors with those in Western countries which contain a population o f increasing age, we try to clarify characteristics of the elderly and residential energy demand, then propose possible future subjects for study.
