The H-1 T-2 images for a transverse slice of a PMAA hydrogel with para
magnetic Mn2+ ions under the application of a 3 V DC electric field we
re observed as a function of elapsed time by means of 270 MHz H-1 n.m.
r. imaging. By using the relationship between the concentration of Mn2
+ ions and the H-1 T-2 value of water in the gel obtained by H-1 pulse
n.m.r., the H T-2 image was converted to the Mn2+ ion concentration i
mage. From these experiments, the spatial distribution of paramagnetic
Mn2+ ions in the gel under the application of a 3 V DC electric field
