Sm. Hampton et Mj. Cinnamond, SUBCUTANEOUS EMPHYSEMA AS A COMPLICATION OF TONSILLECTOMY, Journal of Laryngology and Otology, 111(11), 1997, pp. 1077-1078
Subcutaneous emphysema occurs when air is introduced into the tissues.
This can happen as a complication during, or immediately after surger
y. It has rarely been described after tonsillectomy. Definitive treatm
ent will depend on the cause. We report two cases of subcutaneous emph
ysema following tonsillectomy.
