Abstract
An experimental and theoretical evaluation of a Mach-Zehnder interfero meter (MZI) which is employed as a recovery interferometer in a white- light interferometric sensing system is reported. This MZI is composed of bulk optical components for enhanced stability, and does not requi re the use of polarizers and transmission gratings which are commonly employed in other proposed configurations of sensor systems of this ty pe.
