Abstract
We present a thin grating sequential diffraction technique on analyzin g Bragg diffractions by superimposed transmission phase gratings. It c an account for diffractions by any number of superimposed ratings with symmetric and asymmetric diffraction geometries. The angular and wave length selectivity curves are found to depart from the (sinc)(2) funct ional The calculation results match well with those calculated using t hin-grating decomposition technique. The simple computation technique should be suitable for design engineers to establish grating index com binations prior to experimental implementation of optical beam splitti ng components.
