Abstract
The theoretical study of the propagation of high frequency waves in co nfined areas is usually based on a ray theory. In the special case of a tunnel or of a very long corridor, simplifying hypotheses are usuall y introduced for the field calculation. The objective of this paper is to quantify the error and thus to predict the validity of such approx imations.
