Abstract
A series of hydroxamic acids related to the non-selective matrix metal loprotease inhibitor Batimastat is described, which inhibits the prote olytic cleavage of the low affinity IgE receptor from cell membrane pr eparations. Limited SAR studies suggest that the structural requiremen ts for effective inhibition ate distinct from those required for the i nhibition of collagenase. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
