Abstract
The process of creating unstable rapidly heated and cooled zones of a plastically deformed metallic material under the process of realisatio n of super-deep penetration is described. Parameters, sizes, lifetime. and proportion of such zones in the bulk of a target material was est ablished and evaluated. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
