We study the possibility of producing disentangled states in the Jayne
s-Cummings model when the input field is a superposition of two Fock s
tates, \M] and \M + 1], and the atom is initially in a superposition o
f its two stationary states. In the case of large M, we show that Jayn
es-Cummings interaction provides quantum state swapping between the tw
o qubits (atom and field).
