This retrospective study was aimed at intermittent intravenous immunog
lobulin therapy in severe cases of chronic Guillain Barre syndrome (8
cases), myasthenia (5) and in multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN) (2). O
n an average, IVIG therapy was performed 9 times. There was a goad res
ponse in CIDP, myasthenia and in MMN. After 6 months a decrease of IVI
G response was seen in CIDP, but not in myasthenia and not in MMN. We
conclude that intermittent IVIG treatment is an alternative in severe
courses of these neuromuscular diseases.
