Abstract
Acute toxicity study of water soluble C-60 was conducted in young fema le rats with one dose intraperitoneal injection of C-60 ((CH2)(4)SO3Na )(4-6). The preliminary results indicated its LD50 value as approximat ely 600 mg/kg. The compound induced a unique phagolysosome-overload ne phropathy that may serve as a biological marker in toxicity screening test for a series of synthesized water-soluble fullerenes.
