W. Doering et al., BLOCKAGE OF THE STELLATUM GANGLION - A PO SSIBLE THERAPY OF PARALYSISOF THE CANINE RADIAL NERVE, Praktische Tierarzt, 79(1), 1998, pp. 24
The blockage of the stellatum ganglion with bupivacaine 0.5 % has been
successfully applied to the forelegs of dogs in three out of four cas
es. With a dosage of 2 mg/kg weight on four to eight consecutive days,
paralysis could be reversed completely. In one case a restitution of
the nervous function with only minor symptoms was accomplished. In the
fourth case, healing was not possible because of a neurofibrosarcoma
of the brachial plexus.
