Abstract
The title compound, [ThBr2(eta(5)-C10H15)(2)] or Cp-2ThBr2 [Cp* = eta (5)-C-5(CH3)(5)], presents a pseudo-tetrahedral 'bent-metallocene' geo metry in the solid state, with the Th atom binding to two pentamethylc yclopentadienyl ligands and two bromide ligands. The Th-Br bond length is 2.800(2)Angstrom, whereas the Th-C distances are in the range 2.77 (1)-2.782(9) Angstrom.
